A large anticyclone cover the country tonight, it doesn’nt mean everyone will get settled weather but the picture is far from stormy. A front worked it’s way over the South Island today mainly bringing cloud and some drizzle to the east coast, it moves north over the North Island tonight but once again conditions will mainly deteriorate in the east.

Northland
Clear spells, areas of cloud for some. Southerly quarter winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-15

Auckland

Areas of cloud with southwesterly winds easing, winds tend south to
southeasterly overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 14

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny spells with westerly winds, changing southeast during this evening.
About the Bay Of Plenty expect west to southwest winds to ease this evening,
mostly sunny weather. Winds tend southeast overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-16

Eastern North Island

Clear spells with easterly winds, southerlies freshen by evening with
increasing cloud and drizzle developing overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Western North Island

Cloudy areas with westerlies changing southeasterly this evening. About
Taranaki expect areas of cloud clearing overnight, brisk westerlies change
southeast around midnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-14

Wellington

Cloudy areas with southerly winds, chance of a light shower or two this
evening and overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 13

Nelson

Mainly clear skies, northeasterlies ease this evening. Light winds
overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Marlborough

Cloudy areas breaking up overnight, easterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Canterbury

Cloudy skies with southerly winds easing this evening, light easterlies
overnight. The odd drizzle patch mainly about the foothills.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

West Coast

Mainly clear skies, south to southwesterly winds ease this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Coastal Otago

Clear spells south of about Dunedin, cloudier skies further north.
Southwesterlies ease this evening then winds tend light east to northeast
tonight.
Tonight’s Low: 10

Central Otago

Clear skies with southerlies dying out later this evening, light winds
overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 6-7

Southland

Breezy southwesterlies easing with skies becoming clear this evening, light
winds overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 4
