A cool southwesterly airflow still lies over New Zealand tonight, sandwhiched between a low to the southeast of the country and a high in the Tasman Sea. Cloudy with much of the west of both islands, the odd shower about too. Showers or rain continue for Southland and parts of Otago / Canterbury.

Auckland & Northland
Cloudy spells with west to southwest breezes, chance of a brief shower now and then.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-17

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy spells with westerly breezes, easing during this evening. Chance of the odd shower. Mainly dry about the Bay Of Plenty.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-15

Eastern North Island

Clear spells with some cloud about, northwesterly breezes.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-15

Western North Island

Cloudy spells with brisk to strong westerlies, easing this evneing. The odd
shower possible at times mainly overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Wellington

Mainly clear skies with northwesterly breezes.
Tonight’s Low: 14

Nelson

A few clouds about, southwesterly breezes.
Tonight’s Low: 13

Marlborough

Clear with a few clouds about, brisk northwesterlies ease this
evening.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Canterbury

Cloudy with occasional showers, becoming a little more persistent for a
time this evening (especially near the coast) then easing overnight.
Southwesterly winds. Inland parts of North Canterbury remain mostly dry.

West Coast

Showers with west to southwest breezes.

Coastal Otago

Showers, brisk southwesterly winds easing this evening.

Central Otago

Showers ease overnight, cool south to southwesterly winds.

Southland

Periods of rain with brisk west to southwest winds, easing a little later
this evening.
