A ridge moves onto the country overnight with skies clearing for many and winds easing, this can mean a cold night ahead though especially inland areas.

Auckland & Northland
Areas of cloud with southwesterly breezes changing lighter south to
southeast overnight, low risk of the occasional shower this evening.
Tonight’s Low: 13

Central North Island, Waikato &
Bay Of Plenty

Showers about the Central North Island, some heavy with possible
thunderstorms in the east clearing this evening as a southerly change develops.
Skies clearing up overnight. Some cloud about the Waikato this evening, chance
of a late shower in the east as winds tend southerly. Mostly clear about the Bay
Of Plenty with westerlies, chance of a late evening shower especially in the
east as winds change southeasterly.

Eastern North Island

Cloudy areas with southwesterly breezes. Showers, some heavy with
thunderstorms and hail and Hawkes Bay and Gisborne clearing later this
evening.
Tonight’s Low: 10

Western North Island

Remaining showers clear this evening then becoming mainly clear after
midnight, southeasterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-10

Wellington

Areas of cloud with brisk southerlies easing overnight.

evening with northeasterlies easing, ligth winds overnight with skies clearing
up.

Areas of cloud slowly breaking up overnight, brisk southwesterlies ease
later this evening.

Cloudy areas breaking up overnight as southwesterlies ease, high cloud then
moves in however.
