The big one’s here – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Christmas Day

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Christmas Day is looking pretty docile, weather-wise, across New Zealand – with just some scattered showers, a few clouds and some warm conditions!

There is the chance of a few isolated late afternoon and evening showers about the Bay of Plenty (mainly in the east) and perhaps the ranges of Gisborne and northern Hawkes Bay.

Temperatures sit in the low to mid 20s for pretty much everyone.
It might be a fairly cloudy start for the North Island before breaking to some sun, but everyone will see some Christmas Day sunshine!

Main Centres

Auckland

It’s looking cloudy in the morning with a few showers clearing away, and some sun breaking through in the afternoon, while winds are light, tending southwesterly – and temperatures stay in the early 20s.

Wellington

Sunny in the capital with light southerlies and temperatures in the early 20s – lovely!

Christchurch

Morning cloud breaks away to sunny weather and high temperatures, while light winds tend east to northeast this afternoon, with temperatures here in the early 20s too.
