A cooler than average night ahead for most tonight, where winds (mostly southwesterlies) are a bit breezy near the coast or cloud cover comes in to play temperatures will be mostly average.
It’s going to feel a bit cool tomorrow for most, the West Coast of the South Island gets away with temperatures about average for the time of year due to a slight sheltering affect the Southern Alps create in the overall southwesterly airflow. Certainly not a summery feel this week for most regions, at the end of this coming week and into the weekend warm temperatures return but it comes with a good dose of northwest wind for a time.
