Upper North Island

Cloudy spells for Northland with southeasterly winds, a few showers move through in the afternoon particularly in the east then clear evening. Northern parts of Auckland may cop a shower or two during the same time frame. For most other parts of Auckland expect sunny spells, a period of cloud develops during the morning however then gradually clears late afternoon with southeasterly winds. The Waikato and Bay Of Plenty can expect a mostly sunny day with southeasterly breezes.

Lower North Island

Mainly sunny in the west with southeasterly winds. Cloudy along the east coast with the odd shower, especially in the ranges. Wairarapa can expect long dry spells during the day. Wellington sees a mix of sunny and cloudy spells with east to southeast winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, areas of cloud morning and evening along the east coast north of Banks Peninsula with east to northeast breezes. Temperatures fairly cold morning and night in inland areas with frosts possible.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, chance of some cloud morning and night along the east coast otherwise mainly clear skies can be expected. Some morning cloud for Fiordland with north to northeast winds, a mostly sunny afternoon. Frosty morning and night for sheltered and inland areas.
