Many places today will see the sun again following days of snow, rain or cloud.  As our big storm finally clears to the east, a small system in the south will again see another change moving in, but nothing like what we’ve just seen!

Northland, Auckland
Still the risk of an early shower in some coastal areas, but the forecast is for southerlies and conditions improving..
Highs: 13-14

Bay Of Plenty & Waikato
Mostly sunny, south to southwest breezes.
Highs: 11-13

Central North Island
Could be a morning shower (rain shower for most, but could be snow for the Desert Road area, then sunny spells increasing. Cold winds from the south.
Highs: 4-8

Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Gisborne
Showers at times with cold southwesterlies, snow flurries to 400 or 500m at first, then sunny spells moving in and showers clearing. Winds from the southerly quarter.
High: 9-11

Western North Island
Could be some early showers, otherwise dry and becoming mostly sunny. Cold south to southwest winds easing.
Highs: 10-13

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny. Westerlies developing.
Highs: 12

Canterbury, Otago
Becoming sunny and dry. Could be late high cloud, pushing in earlier further south you go. Cold winds easing.
Highs: 4 to 10

West Coast
Risk of a shower, otherwise sunny and cloudy spells with sou’westers.
Highs: 12

Southland
Showers and winds mainly from the south west.
High: 9
