Upper North Island

A mix of sun and cloud with east to southeasterly winds, cloud more persistent in eastern parts iike eastern Northland, Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel with a shower or two at times.

Lower North Island

Mainly sunny weather after a cool start (especially inland) with light winds tending onshore this afternoon, some cloud north of Gisborne with the chance of a shower or two. Northerlies about Wellington.

Upper South Island

Mainly sunny weather with light winds, perhaps a touch of fog first thing then clearing away. Some cloud possible at times during today on the West Coast.

Lower South Island

Mainly sunny with west to northwest winds for Southland and Otago, a touch of high cloud increasing then a few showers move into Southland overnight. Fiordland sees mainly cloudy skies today with a few showers at times.
