Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Look for a dry and settled day today, unless you happen to be in the far east or deep south.

Sunshine will be the rule for most of New Zealand today.  However, Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne could all see a few showers today.  Coastal sections of Southland and Otago could also see a few showers.  Even though the chances are pretty small, there is still the threat for a rogue shower or two.

Daytime highs should reach the lower to middle teens for most of New Zealand.  The deep south will likely be a bit cooler with highs struggling to break into the double digits.

All of this settled weather is courtesy of a big area of high pressure that will continue to dominate our weather for the next few days.
