Upper North Island

A mix of sun and cloud with westerly quarter winds, winds tend northerly in the afternoon for the Bay Of Plenty. Isolated showers develop late afternoon / evening about some inland areas.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas in the west with the chance of a shower or two, westerly winds. Wellington sees mostly cloudy skies with southerly winds. Cloud develops in the morning about the Wairarapa then gradually pushing northwards along the east coast during the day, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening inland about hills / ranges.

Upper South Island

Fairly cloudy although Marlborough and Nelson may start the day fairly sunny with cloud building from afternoon. Chance of an isolated shower for some inland areas otherwise mainly dry. Winds tending onshore for most regions during the afternoon.

Lower South Island

Areas of cloud an occasional sun, chance of a shower or two mainly inland afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry.
