Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower possible, more so afternoon onwards then some evening / overnight rain. Rain may be briefly heavy at times. Northwesterly winds.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy with northwesterly winds in the west, the odd shower turns to rain late afternoon or evening. Taranaki may see the odd heavy fall. Sunny areas and thickening high cloud in the east, the odd shower spreads from the west late afternoon / evening.

Upper South Island

Cloudy in the west with the odd shower, rain about South Westland with heavy falls moves into North Westland around midday. Easing for all in the evening as gusty northerlies change westerly. For the east coast expect thick high cloud, some rain spreads from the west late afternoon then clearing evening as gusty north to northeasterly winds tend northwest. Some sun late in the day.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy skies for Southland and Otago, showers develop this afternoon then ease in the evening before clearing overnight. Northerlies this morning then easing away.
