Mostly sunny weather with a touch of high cloud from afternoon, light winds.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, light winds. Gisborne through to Wairarapa has mostly cloudy skies with cool southerlies, showers (mainly about northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne) ease during the day then clear in the evening.

Upper South Island

Plenty of high cloud with some sun at times, north to northeasterly winds freshening up this afternoon along the east coast.

Lower South Island

Thick high cloud, north to northeasterly winds. Northeasterlies freshen up along the east coast in the afternoon. Overnight some scattered rain moves onto South Westland.
