Upper North Island
Showers with gusty west to southwesterly winds, showers may be heavy in the morning with a risk of hail then easing. Northland may remain fairly dry especially in the east.
Lower North Island
Showers at times in the west, possibly heavy in the morning with a risk of hail then easing. Snow flurries about the Central Plateau to 600m. Fairly dry on the east coast with mainly sunny skies, winds breezy to brisk from the west.
Upper South Island
Showers at times in the west especially Greymouth northwards, snow flurries to 400m or perhaps even 300m at times. Mainly dry on the east coast with mostly sunny weather, some cloud at times. Winds breezy from the west or southwest.
Lower South Island
Showers with snow flurries to low levels (200 to 100m) in the morning then lifting to 300m in the afternoon, shower activity eases overall in the evening. Cold west to southwesterly winds.
