Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy with occasional sun, southeasterly winds fairly gusty about exposed northeastern areas. There may be a shower or two during the day moving past the likes of eastern Northland, Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy skies along the east coast, the odd shower about especially Hawkes Bay and Gisborne. Sunny areas and some high cloud elsewhere with southeasterly winds.

Upper South Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud, winds generally light. Along the east coast expect some cloud to linger at times mainly right on the coast while further inland sun should be more frequent. A frosty start for many especially inland.

Lower South Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud, winds mainly light. There could be a touch of cloud at times for eastern coastal areas.
