Upper North Island

A mix of sun and cloud with west to southwesterly breezes. There may be an isolated shower in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry.

Lower North Island

Sunny areas in the west, chance of an isolated shower in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry with westerly winds. Mostly sunny elsewhere with northerlies about Wellington and afternoon east to northeast winds down the east coast.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny in the east and about Nelson, west to southwest winds about Nelson may tend northerly in the afternoon. The east coast has light winds, east to northeast breezes pick up in the afternoon however. Later in the evening a southerly change moves through Canterbury bringing some cloud. The West Coast has mainly cloudy skies with west to southwest winds, the odd shower may move into North Westland in the evening.

Lower South Island

Cloudy in the west with showers or some rain moving into Fiordland in the afternoon and spreading a little further northwards in the evening. Some morning sun for Southland and Otago then a southwest change pushes northwards in the afternoon bringing showers which ease later in the evening.
