Upper North Island

Fairly cloudy to begin with for some, but cloudy areas break to some sun this afternoon, west to southwesterly winds. Sunny areas will be longer about the Waikato and especially Bay Of Plenty.  The usual anti-cyclonic gloom for some in the west as a high rolls in.

Lower North Island

A cold start for some. Sunny areas and some cloud in the west with westerly winds. Mainly sunny about Wellington and along the east coast, afternoon easterlies for the east coast.

Upper South Island

A cold start for some. Cloudy areas along the West Coast with the chance of a light shower or two otherwise mainly dry, winds from the southwest. Mainly sunny elsewhere after any morning cloud breaks away, afternoon east to northeasterly winds along the east coast.

Lower South Island

A cold start for some. Some cloud in the west and about Southland with west to southwesterly winds, mostly sunny elsewhere with afternoon easterlies for coastal Otago.

Sunshine, a broken rainbow, clouds and the All Blacks won.

Hopefully the weather suits the marathon runners in Auckland.
