Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny weather, southwesterly winds in the west. About Wellington and along the east coast expect mainly sunny weather also, light winds at first tend southerly by midday.

Upper South Island

Cloudy areas in the west with the chance of a light shower or two, mainly in the morning. Sun breaks through from afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere with some high cloud possible, southerlies pick up along the east coast by midday bringing increasing cloud and the chance of a shower mainly for inland areas.

Lower South Island

A mostly cloudy start for all with the chance of a few showers, drying out in the afternoon for most although remaining fairly cloudy. Sun may break through in the afternoon for the West Coast however. Southwesterly winds for most, gradually easing during the day. Northeasterly winds develop in the afternoon for coastal Otago.
