Upper North Island

Mostly sunny especially in the morning, cloud builds a little after midday and there could be an isolated shower or two late afternoon / evening. Winds light generally from the easterly quarter.

Lower North Island

A mostly cloudy day in the east from Gisborne through to the Wairarapa, the odd drizzle patch. The reverse is true out west with mainly sunny conditions expected, light winds.

Upper South Island

Mainly sunny in the east after any morning cloud breaks away, winds from the east to northeast near the coast and light inland. Cloudier skies in the west with the odd patchy shower especially afternoon.

Lower South Island

Any early cloud in the east breaks to mainly sunny weather, light winds tend northeast near the coast. Cloudy areas along the West Coast south of Hokitika with the chance of a light shower or two mainly later in the day.
