There may be a few sunny areas this morning and early afternoon about the Glaciers northwards but expect cloud to thicken and move north as the day goes on, west to northwest winds. East Coast
Plenty of high cloud with northwesterly winds, a bit breezy for inland areas perhaps even gusty at times. A few spots of rain are possible about Otago around midday then for Canterbury in the evening. Southland sees gusty northwesterly winds with cloudy skies, the odd spot of rain. Winds change southwest in the afternoon bringing showers which clear in the evening. Morning southwesterlies for Nelson then tending westerly in the afternoon, plenty of high cloud.
