Upper North Island

Morning rain possibly heavy easing to showers by
midday as breezy northerlies change WSW, showers mostly clearing into the afternoon although the odd one may remain. Sunny spells develop PM too.

Lower North Island

Rain eases to showers by midday as westerlies tend southwest, northern parts of Taranaki may see showers clearing in the morning then becoming mostly sunny there in the afternoon. Morning rain
for Wellington with winds changing southerly, rain eases to showers before
midday which then clear mid to late afternoon, cloud breaks later in the
evening. Winds change southwest during the morning along the east coast bringing
showers, some rain about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne from evening.

Upper South Island

Morning rain eases to showers for most then clearing around
midday, sunny spells develop in the afternoon with southwesterly winds easing.
The odd shower may hang around a little longer into the afternoon about
Marlborough and Nelson before finally clearing.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny with west to southwest winds, cloud about Southland a
little thicker with the odd shower about.
