Upper North Island

A few morning showers possible, sunny spells too.
Sunny spells lengthen in the afternoon with any remaining showers clearing. Light to moderate southwesterly winds ease in the evening. The Waikato and Bay Of Plenty are likely to remain sunny all day.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy about Wellington and along the east coast with south to southwesterly winds, the odd shower at times. In the west south of Wanganui
expect sunny areas and some increasing cloud with southwesterly winds, the odd
shower from afternoon. North of Wanganui in the west expect mostly sunny weather
with light south to southwest winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, chance of some cloud along the eastern coastline
in a dying southwesterly airflow. Frosty morning and night especially inland.

Lower South Island

Mainly sunny with light winds. Frosty morning and night especially inland.

The lenghtening sunny spells haven’t happened, it’s very overcast with constant wet drizzly stuff. The showers must have turned around and come back, certainly over Papatoetoe

When you look at a satellite picture there is a strip of cloud covering mainly Auckland then sunny either side of it, bad luck today it seems!

If only the southwest flow would go,its overcast,started to rain and wind pickingup too.
