Upper North Island

Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, northerly
winds pick up a little later in the day. Light showers move into Northland in the evening then further south to Auckland overnight.

Lower North Island

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, light north to
northeasterly winds. Skies becoming totally cloudy in the evening out west with drizzle moving into Taranaki overnight.

Upper South Island

Becoming cloudy in the morning in Nelson and on the West Coast
north of Hokitika with increasing northerly winds, drizzle patches from evening
then rain overnight. Sunny with increasing high cloud on the east coast,
northerly winds pick up from afternoon or evening.

Lower South Island

Cloudy on the West Coast south of Hokitika, increasing
northeasterly winds. Drizzle develops late afternoon then rain moves in during
the evening, becoming heavy overnight. Sunny areas and thickening high cloud
about the east coast and Southland, northerly winds. Spells of rain develop in
the evening.
