Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with south to southwesterly breezes,
there may be some high cloud about.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas about Wellington and sunny spells about Kapiti
through to Taranaki, southeasterly winds. Cloudy skies along the east coast from Gisborne through to the Wairarapa with southeasterly winds, patchy rain or drizzle with areas of rain more likely about northern Hawkes Bay
northwards.

Upper South Island

Morning drizzle clears on the east coast, remaining mostly cloudy although there may be a few afternoon sunny
spells; easterly winds. Morning cloud breaks about Nelson to afternoon sunny
spells, light winds may tend northerly. Along the West Coast there may be some
early morning drizzle that clears then expect cloudy spells with light winds,
patchy rain or drizzle remains for much of the day south of
Greymouth.

Lower South Island

Any morning drizzle clears on the east coast and about Southland, chance of some afternoon sunny spells with light
winds. Sunny spells about Fiordland with light easterlies, some cloud spreads
south late afternoon or evening however with the odd light shower. Cloudy about
South Westland with patchy drizzle and light winds, some rain possible from
evening.
