Showers are dotting the north and west of the North Island and the northeastern part of the mainland this morning.
Wellington and Wairarapa are also seeing a damp southerly move through which is expected to work its way into Hawkes Bay and Gisborne as the day progresses.
There’s also the risk of thunder too across central and northern parts of the North Island for a time, as a band of heavier showers makes its way across the island today.
The mainland is seeing the most settled conditions along with some cool temperatures. Cloud and showers are still lurking across parts of North canterbury and Marlborough but are expected to clear throughout the day.

Nice roll cloud moved over late last night with the southerly change with some great lightning displays over and around the Darfield area. Good heavy rain followed.
