High pressure continues to dominate but the big daytime downpours today spread further into inland parts of the North Island too, as well as the South Island interior.
 
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Fairly cloudy at times with light winds in the morning, afternoon sea breezes for some. Afternoon cloud build ups but looks mainly dry.
Highs: 21-27


Eastern North Island
A mix of sun and cloud with light winds in the morning, afternoon east to northeast winds. Heavy downpours possible around the Hawke’s Bay ranges later.
Highs: 21-25

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy at times with light winds.
Highs: 22-26

 

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with light southerlies.
Highs: 21-24
 

Marlborough & Nelson

A mix of sun and cloud, light winds.
Highs: 20-25
 

West Coast
A mix of sun and cloud with light winds in the morning, afternoon sea breezes will produce isolated showers late afternoon / evening inland about some hills and ranges. 
Highs: 20-25


Canterbury
Mainly sunny with afternoon easterly breezes. Late afternoon / evening isolated showers develop inland about some hills and ranges, particularly further towards the West Coast
Highs: 21-25

 
Southland & Otago
Cloudy areas with downpours developing across the day, some heavy. Winds light and variable.
