Mainly anticyclonic conditions for New Zealand today however a weak front moves onto the lower South Island this morning then slowly northwards.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with cloud a little more frequent after midday for inland areas, chance of a late afternoon isolated shower. Sea breezes.
Highs: 24-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with afternoon westerlies.
Highs: 22-25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with east to northeast winds, any morning cloud about Gisborne clears.
Highs: 23-24

Wellington

Mostly sunny with light southeasterly winds.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud, north to northwesterly winds change southerly in the evening bringing some cloud.
High: 22-29

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds tending southerly after midday. Overnight drizzle.
Highs: 26-27

West Coast

A mix of sun and cloud with west to southwesterly winds, a few showers move into Fiordland in the morning then clearing in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-23

Southland & Otago

High cloud then southwesterlies freshen late morning about Southland then early afternoon about Otago bringing a shower or two which clears in the evening. Expect many dry areas still.
Highs: 16-24
