A west to southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, a weak front moves off the top of the South Island this morning then over the North Island this afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy, a few showers mainly afternoon / evening. Brisk Westerly winds.

Highs: 19-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, clearing in the evening. Breezy west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Eastern North Island

A mix of sun and cloud with breezy westerly winds, chance of a shower spreading from the west late afternoon.
Highs: 24-26

Wellington

Sunny spells with breezy northwesterly winds.
High: 19

Marlborough & Nelson

A mostly sunny day with west to northwesterly winds, cloud a little more frequent about Nelson mainly in the morning.
High: 21-25

Canterbury

Sunny areas and some cloud, a few showers may sneak up the coast reaching Banks Peninsula late afternoon / evening. Southerlies tend easterly in the afternoon.
High: 18

West Coast

Cloudy areas with the odd shower, west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy about Southland with showers from midday, elsewhere expect some sun then a few showers from late afternoon. Northwesterlies tend westerly (strong about Southland) around midday.
Highs: 15-20
