The odd shower and brisk westerly winds, cloud breaks to the odd sunny spell from afternoon.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Showers ease during the day then clear in the evening, strong westerly winds gusting to gale at times ease in the evening.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with strong westerly winds, a risk of winds gusting to gale at times then easing in the evening. A few showers about the Wairarapa during the day.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Rain eases to showers which clear in the afternoon, cloud then breaks to some sun. Westerly winds tend southerly in the afternoon.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Showers clear by midday then sunny spells increase from afternoon, southwesterly winds die out in the evening.
High: 15

Canterbury

Showers ease then clear early afternoon, cloud breaks away in the evening with southwesterly winds dying out.
High: 11

West Coast

Showers gradually ease then clearing in the evening, a few sunny spells may break through from afternoon. Breezy cool southwesterly winds.
High: 13

Southland & Otago

Early showers clear about Southland and Central Otago then cloud breaks to a mostly sunny afternoon, west to northwest winds. Coastal Otago sees morning rain clear then sunny spells develop from afternoon, southwest winds die out in the evening.
