Morning showers then easing and dry spells becoming longer. Brisk to strong southwest winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Areas of cloud and the odd shower, mostly clearing by evening. Breezy west to southwesterly winds.

Eastern North Island
A mostly sunny morning then southwesterlies freshen in the afternoon bringing some cloud and a few showers which clear evening.

Wellington
Mostly sunny, chance of an isolated shower around midday. Southerly winds.

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14
 
Canterbury

Sunny areas, risk of a shower mainly out on Banks Peninsula. Breezy southwesterly winds.

West Coast
Areas of cloud with mainly dry weather however about Greymouth northwards the odd shower may not clear till afternoon. Overnight showers move in again becoming heavy about South Westland. Breezy west to southwest winds.

Southland & Otago
Occasional showers about Southland and right on the coast for Otago up to about Dunedin, drying out for a time in the afternoon then rain moves at night. The rest of otago is looking mostly sunny although rain moves in there overnight. Gusty west to southwesterly winds gale at times about coastal areas.
Highs: 7-10
