Mainly settled and sunny across New Zealand today due to a ridge of high pressure. Some cloud about central NZ in the west may deliver a shower or two and also some cloud about the lower South Island may bring a few spots of rain.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with light winds after a cold start. Some cloud may spread into the Waikatao later in the evening for a time.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloud increases from morning. The odd patchy shower from afternoon about the Manawatu then spreading elsewhere in the evening, clearing overnight. West to northwest winds.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island

Sunny with westerly winds, perhaps tending southwest for a brief time in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Sunny with northwesterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with west to northwesterly breezes.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with light winds, tending northwest.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast

Sunny areas with west to northwest winds, a few early showers possible about Buller then clearing away. Rain moves into South Westland in the evening becoming heavy there overnight.
High: 12

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, some patchy rain develops in the afternoon about Southland and Central Otago. Coastal Otago may see a spot of rain later in the evening. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-12
