A west to southwest airflow lies over the North Island today while northwesterlies build over the South Island. Mainly settled weather today before a frontal system moves through tomorrow.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas with southwesterly breezes, there may be a clearing shower first thing in the morning.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Fairly cloudy to start then expect sunny areas at times, more so afternoon onwards. There may be a shower, especially in the morning. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Eastern North Island

Mainly sunny weather, light winds for the most part perhaps from the northwest first thing in the morning.
Highs: 19-20

Wellington

Mainly sunny with breezy northwesterly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly sunny weather with light winds tending northwest.
Highs: 15-17

Canterbury

Sunny with light Northerlies, tending more northeast near the coast.
High: 15

West Coast

Cloudy areas, rain moves into Fiordland during the afternoon spreading into North Westland overnight. Rain may be heavy. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, breezy northwesterly winds. A few spots of rain or the odd shower in the evening. West of the Queenstown lakes area rain moves in during the afternoon.
Highs: 11-13
