Upper North Island

Sunny areas with light winds, tending northerly about the Bay Of Plenty in the afternoon and light west to southwest elsewhere. About southern parts of Auckland, western Bay Of Plenty and down through to northern parts of Taranaki there may be a few isolated showers afternoon / evening with a low risk of one of two becoming heavy with thunderstorms. Showers clear later in the evening.

Lower North Island

Drizzle in the east clears in the morning, cloud breaks to a few sunny areas in the afternoon. Southerly breezes. Mostly sunny elsewhere although expect some cloud about southern parts of Taranaki and the Central North Island where there is the low risk of an isolated afternoon shower.

Upper South Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds in the morning then afternoon sea breezes. Isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening about Buller and inland Nelson.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, afternoon east to northeast winds in the east and afternoon west to southwest winds in the west. Any morning cloud along the east coast clears.
