Sunny areas and some cloud for most, skies may be mainly sunny Auckland northwards. West to Sou’West winds, winds may tend northerly in the afternoon about the Bay Of Plenty.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Areas of cloud and some sun with breezy west to northwest winds.
Highs: 23-24

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, afternoon northeasterlies about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Highs: 26-28

Wellington

Mostly sunny with breezy Nor’West winds.
High: 23

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 25-28

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds, tending northwest inland. Some late evening cloud as winds change Southerly, overnight drizzle.
High: 28

West Coast

Rain about Fiordland slowly spreads northwards during the day, not reaching North Westland till later in the evening. Expect some sun and increasing cloud beforehand, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower at times through the day about Southland, mainly morning. Otago sees some morning sun then rain develops in the afternoon before clearing later in the evening. Southwesterly winds freshen up after midday.
Highs: 17-22
