Showers or drizzle patches, chance of a downpour and or thunderstorm in the afternoon Auckland northwards. Easterly winds a little breezy at times for some.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Morning rain or showers clears then a few sunny areas may break through with breezy southeasterly winds. Chance of a shower continuing on and off about Taranaki however.
Highs: 23-27

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with east to southeasterly winds, patchy rain or drizzle eases in the afternoon.
Highs: 23-24

Wellington

Cloudy areas with Sou’East winds.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy areas and occasional sun with east southeasterly breezes. Winds tend more northeast about Nelson with sunnier skies.
Highs: 22-25

Canterbury

Sunny areas possible this morning then cloud builds as light winds tend southerly, chance of a drizzle patch during the rest of the day otherwise dry .
High: 19

West Coast

Any early cloud clears then expect mainly sunny weather with light winds, hottest temperatures inland especially inland Buller.
Highs: 25-30

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas about Southland and coastal Otago, mainly sunny all day inland. South to southwesterly breezes.
Highs: 16-26
