A northwesterly airflow gradually builds over New Zealand today, quite settled weather today however with the majority of cloud in the west of the country.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas with light northeasterlies after morning cloud breaks away, cloud thickens overnight. There may be a light patchy shower move into Northland later in the evening.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas with northeasterly breezes, cloud thickening up later in the evening.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island

A cloudy morning then sunny areas increase in the afternoon, southerlies tend northeast around midday.
High: 13

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northerly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny about Marlborough and some cloud for Nelson thickening later. North to northwesterly winds increasing from afternoon.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

A mainly sunny day with some high cloud later in the evening, northeasterlies near the coast pick up a little from afternoon. Winds tend more northerly inland.
High: 14-15

West Coast

Morning sunny areas then cloud increases from afternoon with a few light showers moving into South Westland, the odd light shower moves into North Westland later in the evening. Northeasterly winds gradually freshen.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

A mostly sunny morning then high cloud thickens from afternoon, there may be a spot of rain later in the evening. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-14
