A north to northwesterly airflow increases over New Zealand today while a high is centred east of the North Island offshore in the Pacific Ocean.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud, easterly quarter winds. Places like eastern Coromandel, Great Barrier Island and eastern Northland may see more frequent cloud and the chance of a shower or two at times.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with north to northeasterly winds, chance of an early fog
patch for inland areas.
Highs: 17-20

Eastern North Island

Sunny with northeasterly winds, winds tend more northerly in the evening
more so about the Wairarapa.
High: 18-19

Wellington

Sunny areas and some cloud, breezy northerly winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny about Marlborough. Nelson a little different with cloud
increasing by midday, a few spots of rain even possible. Northwesterlies
increase for all in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-22

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with northerly breezes, fairly breezy inland. Winds tend a
little more northeast near the coast. Some high cloud from late afternoon.
High: 21-22

West Coast

Cloudy with spells of rain about South Westland moving into North Westland
by midday, rain about South Westland becoming heavy in the evening. Northerly
winds increase.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago

High cloud thickens from morning with increasing northerly winds, a few
spots of rain possible at times especially later in the evening. Overnight rain
sets in more about Southland and Central Otago.
Highs: 17-20
