Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of PlentyPeriods of cloud and occasional sunny spells, there may be a brief shower or two about the Waikato in the afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. Sunnier skies for the Bay Of Plenty. Westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island (including Central
North Island)
Sunny areas and increasing cloud, a few showers late afternoon and evening
for most although some eastern parts of the Central North Island remain dry.
Showers then clearing overnight. Westerly quarter winds increasing from morning
then changing southerly after midnight.
Highs: 21-23

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny and warm with some late high cloud, northwesterly breezes
picking up about the Wairarapa in the afternoon and perhaps to an extent about
Hawkes Bay. Winds in the Bay will not be strong though. Later in the evening
southerlies push into the Wairarapa with some cloud.
Highs: 23-25

Wellington

Cloudy areas with strengthening northwesterlies from morning, a chance
winds may gust to gale at times from midday. Late afternoon / evening there may
be a brief shower or two then clearing as winds change southerly.
High: 20

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with northwesterly winds, some high cloud from
afternoon with northwesterlies becoming strong in the afternoon about
Marlborough. Winds about the outer Sounds will likely reach gale at times from
afternoon. In the evening winds change southerly then ease.
Highs: 22-25

Canterbury

Morning high cloud may bring a few spots of rain otherwise dry,
northwesterlies gusty about North Canterbury. High cloud clearing early
afternoon as winds tend more westerly then a southerly change pushes in mid
afternoon bringing some cloud, a fairly dry change though so not much in the way
of rain unfortunately.
High: 24

West Coast

Morning rain possibly heavy eases to showers by midday as northwesterlies
change westerly. Showers clear late afternoon / evening with cloud then breaking
away.
High: 19

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy skies. Some morning rain about Southland and Central Otago
with light northwesterlies, drier about coastal Otago. Showers from afternoon
for most as winds change cooler southwest, showers then clear evening.
Highs: 16-20
