A northwesterly airflow starts to strengthen over the country today, most regions see some good weather although winds to build for some and the West Coast of the South Island is cloudy with rain gradually spreading north during the day.

Sunny with light northeasterlies, winds tend northwest in the evening.
Northwesterlies about the Wairarapa freshen from afternoon.

Sunny spells with westerly winds.
Sunny spells with strengthening northwesterlies, cloud thickens later in
the evening.
Mostly sunny with southwesterlies tending northwest in the afternoon and
freshening.
Sunny with northwesterlies freshening from afternoon, becoming gusty in the
evening.
Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds from afternoon near the coast
becoming gusty, inland areas see northwesterlies from morning then becoming
strong at times afternoon onwards. Some high cloud.
Cloudy skies, showers about South Westland turning to rain in the
afternoon. A few patchy light showers spreading into North Westland in the
evening. Northerly winds strengthen during the day especially about South
Westland.

Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, northerlies freshen.
Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, northwesterly winds becoming gusty
by midday and strong from evening.
High cloud with a few sunny areas, gusty northwesterly winds. There may be
an early shower in the morning then towards dawn on Sunday some rain
develops.
