A slack pressure gradiant brings mainly settled weather to the country today although late afternoon / evening isolated showers develop about some inland areas possibly heavy. A low north of the country brings some rain to Gisborne northwards along the east coast.

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with some cloud at times, cloud builds in the afternoon with isolated
showers developing for some especially inland. Showers could be heavy then
clearing later in the evening. Light winds.

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny with some cloud at times, cloud builds in the afternoon with isolated
showers developing for some. Showers could be heavy then clearing later in the
evening. Light winds.

Eastern North Island

Sunny spells with east to northeasterly winds, chance of an isolated shower
late afternoon / evening mainly about the ranges. Gisborne northwards sees some rain during the day.

Mostly sunny with light winds, tending westerly in the afternoon. Chance of
a late afternoon / evening isolated shower about inland hills and ranges then

Mostly sunny with light winds, easterlies near the coast. Chance of a late

Mostly sunny with some cloud at times, mainly morning and night. Light
winds for inland areas, afternoon easterlies near the coast. Isolated showers
may develop late afternoon / evening about some inland areas.

West Coast

Periods of cloud and a few sunny spells, about South Westland skies are
likely to be mostly cloudy with the chance of a shower. Fiordland sees some rain
during the day. Light west to southwest winds.

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas and periods of cloud, mainly mid to high level cloud. Late
afternoon a few isolated showers move in, possibly heavy (especially just inland
from the coast) then clearing later in the evening. Winds will be light.
Highs: 15-16

Central Otago

Areas of high cloud and a few sunny spells, about southern parts of the
region cloud thickens in the afternoon and there could be a few showers any of
which clear in the evening. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Southland

Periods of cloud with gentle northwesterlies, a few showers move in during
the afternoon then clear during the evening.
Highs: 16-17
