A gentle southwesterly airflow lies over the country today as an anticyclone lies in the Tasman Sea. The odd light shower is possible about Southland, the east coast of the North Island and western parts of Auckland and Northland.

Sunny spells with breezy southwesterlies, easing in the evening. Chance of a brief shower at times, mainly afternoon in the west otherwise dry.
Highs: 14-15

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with breezy southwest winds, easing evening.
High: 16

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny with southwesterly winds, easing in the evening.
Highs: 13-15

Eastern North Island

A few morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, breezy
southwesterlies ease later in the day.
Highs: 14

Western North Island

Sunny with light winds, tending southwesterly about Taranaki.
High: 14

Wellington

Sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon.
High: 12

Nelson

Sunny with light winds, late evening cloud then overnight drizzle.
High: 13-14

Marlborough

Sunny with light winds, some late evening cloud.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Sunny or becoming sunny in the morning, light southerlies.

West Coast

Sunny with light winds. Some late evening cloud possible.
Highs: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Mostly sunny with breezy west to southwest winds, easing later in the
day.

Periods of cloud with the odd brief shower, long dry spells too. Westerly
