A weak front lies over the South Island today bringing cloudy areas and drizzle patches to some. The North Island has a southeasterly airflow with cloudy skies and drizzle in the east, mostly sunny out west.

Northland
Mostly sunny with light southerly breezes.
Highs: 22-23

Auckland

Mainly sunny with periods of cloud at times, light southerlies in the morning tend southwest in the afternoon.
High: 23

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light southeasterlies.
Highs: 13

Waikato & Central North Island

Any morning fog clears then expect mostly sunny weather with light winds.
Some cloud at times during the day about eastern parts of the Central North
Island, spilling over from the east coast.
Highs: 21-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with south to southeasterly breezes, the odd drizzle patch at
times becoming a little more persistent from afternoon.
Highs: 20-21

Western North Island

Any early cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, light southeasterly winds.
Winds tend westerly in the afternoon about northern Taranaki.
Highs: 21-22

Wellington

Sunny spells and increasing cloud, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Nelson

Periods of cloud and sunny spells at times, light winds tend northerly in
the afternoon then ease away in the evening.
High: 20

Marlborough

Sunny spells and some increasing cloud, chance of an evening drizzle patch.
Light east to southeast winds.
High: 19

Canterbury

Cloudy with drizzle patches, light southerlies in the morning then
afternoon east to northeast breezes.
High: 16

West Coast

Cloudy areas with some patchy drizzle, light winds.
High: 18

Coastal Otago

Morning rain eases to the odd drizzle patch, southeasterlies tend northeast
by evening.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Central Otago

Any early showers clearing, cloudy periods with light southeasterly winds.
There may be a few afternoon sunny spells about Central Otago.
Highs: 14-17
