Yes with an anticyclone covering much of the South Island it’s going to be a little cool overnight, especially about Central Otago, Southland, and other inland areas where light frosts are likely.
Some areas near the coast in the east north of Banks Peninsula/Kaikoura may see some cloud overnight which could just hold frosty conditions at bay. Frosts will start to become a concern for orchardists from now on and through the spring months.
In the North Island conditions will get fairly cold overnight also but frosts should just keep at bay about the Central North Island and the Waikato. Lows of 2 to 4 degrees can be expected. Southern parts of Auckland will see a chilly night also with 6 degrees possible.
The main wet zone overnight is likely to be on the east coast of the North Island where a southeasterly airflow is likely to deliver cloud and the odd shower through the night. Eastern parts of Northland could see a shower during the night also as a southeasterly airflow may just push in some cloud there.
