Rainwatch – Saturday 29th December 2018

A northweserly airflow lies over the South Island today while a ridge sits further north connecting two large high centres either side of the North Island.

North Island
The Coromandel and Bay Of Plenty has mostly cloudy skies and the odd shower. Waikato sees cloudy areas, risk of a shower at times also but slightly longer dry periods too.

Chance of a shower about the lower western North Island late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. There may be a few spots of rain late afternoon / evening about Hawkes Bay / Gisborne.

South Island
Early rain easing to showers along the West Coast, dry spells from afternoon then showers picking up again in the evening about South Westland. A few spots of rain move into Nelson / Marlborough late morning, clearing during the afternoon. A few morning spots of rain possible about Canterbury then drying out.

Early spots of rain clear for Southland / Otago then later this evening a few further spots of rain move in spreading from the west.
