Little rain is expected about the North Island today.

On the South Island, there is a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms about the western sections of the Mainland this afternoon and this evening.  There could be some rather strong and gusty winds accompanying the squally showers and thunderstorms.

Tomorrow, a front will lift north across the North Island.  This could bring a few showers to the lower North Island in the morning.  Shower chances would then shift to the upper part of the island during the afternoon and evening with the main threat being found in the western sections of the island.

On Wednesday, an onshore flow should develop for the parts of the eastern North Island.  That means Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne could see some showers during the morning and afternoon.
