It’s taking its time to hit the south but rain with heavy falls is expected over parts of Canterbury and Otagoover the next 48-72 hours.
Strong sou’ westers are set to move into the regions with tempertaures falling along with the snow levels inland.
There’s potential forbetwen 50-75mm of rain before all is daid and done over various parts of either region.
Dry conditions recently have plagues much of Southland and Otago but this system appears to be delivering substantial rainfall for a bumber of southern regions over the next couple of days.
Much of the country is set to see a band of rain and rumbles of thunder and isolated hail is also a possibility tomorrow and parts of Wednesday.
Conditions should improve for many as the week progresses but Thursday and Friday could still see a few showers clinging on with sunny spells in between.
