POLL RESULTS: A wet summer not what kiwis expected

> From the WeatherWatch archives

With one and a half months of ‘official’ summer gone, we thought we’d get a gauge on how New Zealanders felt about the (rather wet in places) first half of the season so far.

With rain falling steadily in some parts of the country, and drought dragging on in others, we asked in this week’s poll whether it was what you expected – and the answers were surprising…

65% of those who voted said it was “much wetter” than they expected – as rain and showers have dogged many parts of the country in the last few weeks.

One voter said:

Here in Whangarei the constant strong forecasted SWesters did what was expected bringing unpleasant and cool weather. They have been blowing since about the end of August and have become very annoying making it feel quite wintery some of the time. Even used heating on one occasion last week.

Keep an eye out for our new poll, coming tomorrow morning!
