POLL RESULTS: 75% of New Zealanders unimpressed with winter

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Halfway through winter and it’s had ups and downs aplenty – so we wanted to know what kiwis made of the coldest months of the year so far.

We asked our readers to rate their winter in this week’s poll, and whether they’ve dodged the worst of the weather up to this point – and the response was overwhelmingly negative!

A combined 75% of our voters said this winter has been either average or horrible – after snow, hail, torrential rain and gale force winds have affected parts of the country at times.

Chris J wrote on the website “All in all compared to other years, we’ve still had it pretty good, but it’d be far better without the intruding westerly air. I’ll give an average winter but an enjoyable one.

Keep an eye out for our next poll, coming tomorrow morning!
