After that glorious day Friday in Whangarei we have suffered the Anticyclonic gloom syndrome over most of the last two days, some small sunny spells, quite pleasant temps of around 20deg or so and not too bad at night either.

Traveled down to Warkworth and back Sunday and the closer we got the cooler temp became evident along with far more grey cloud and a cool breeze. Was much more pleasant driving back to Whangarei, lighter brighter cloud and no wind at all. Beaches at Waipu and Langs were very populated.

Pity the sun was not more evident but at least we got no rain and everyone seemed to be enjoying being out and about.

Was expecting a nice calm day in Taupo, but there was a strong west/sou-west blowing all day will a 1m swell making the lake unpleasant. Any chance of it improving for the rest of Easter?

We expect the winds to be much lighter on Saturday and going into Sunday.  Just the outer edges of the high meant stronger winds today.

Hopefully a calmer day Saturday for you after a frosty start!

Cheers

At this stage the real Garbage ie the High winds and Showery weather is mostly on Friday in Auckland but should abate on Saturday.

ECMWF has another big fat high over NZ over Easter, so it looks as though it will be a settled period of weather over Easter WE.
