There may be a bit of a breather coming for those tired of the wind and cold – but in spring style it’s “complicated”.
The next polar surge is moving up NZ today and Friday, before easing this weekend. This brings in frosts for Friday (South Island mostly) and again Saturday (now spreading into the upper North Island).
Next week we may have subtropical winds in the mix – but this might also fuel a narrow area of heavy rain. This is worth monitoring – but nothing yet is locked in (top of the South Island, western North Island).
