A large low brings unsettled weather to most of the country today, centred just east of central New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers, some may be heavy with hail / thunder. Breezy westerly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Showers, some may be heavy with hail / thunder. Breezy west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

Eastern North Island
Some high cloud, a few spots of rain may spread from the west late afternoon / evening. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington
Showers or rain at times, westerlies change southerly later in the evening.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly cloudy, there may be a spot of rain. A southerly change late afternoon or evening brings showers.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury
Rain with heavy falls possible, easing later on / overnight. Fresh southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
A mix of sun and cloud, perhaps a shower at times too otherwise mainly dry. South to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-12

Southland & Otago
Rain, chance of a heavy fall then easing from late afternoon. Fresh cool southerly winds.
Highs: 11-12
